Good morning…

I’m sure you have heard the term “you can’t judge a book by its cover”. This term is so true, there has been times in all of our lives where we have missed judged someone based on their appearance, or based on what we heard from someone else about that person. When God deals with us he develops a personal relationship with each one of us individually. He does not condemn groups of people based on the sins of one. But he saves groups of people based on the sacrifice of one, Jesus.  Sometimes it is the least expected person who will be the one who will help us when we are down on our luck.   Sometimes it is that person whom we hated and made our enemy who will be the one to pull us through. Then coals of fire will be heaped upon the head of the one who mocked and ridiculed the very person who has come to their rescue.

Romans 12:20Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.(KJV)

When the scriptures say coals of fire this is not in a literal sense. But this type of ”coals of fire” is “Guilt”. Guilt that turns the one who sinned to repentance, guilt that burns the very head (mind) of the sinner; guilt that is so hard to bare that it must be confessed and made right in order to extinguish it.  We must take in mind that good friends can come in all shapes and colors.

Prayer: Dear father in heaven thank you for waking us up this morning. Thank you for looking past our wrong doings and loving us despite how we behave, and despite how we treat you. We apologize to you Lord for the times when we turned our back on you when you called our names. We apologize, Lord for the times when we sinned and we knew it was wrong. We apologize for all the times we did not tell others how great you have worked in our life. We apologize for the times we did not thank you and give you praise when we should have, because you deserved it. I ask in the name of your son Jesus, Please forgive us for our sins and heal us from our spiritual and physical sicknesses, Amen.

The termstereotyping” is fairly new, but its meaning is as ancient as people on earth.

In the time of Jesus people often judged others based on wealth, culture, and even color.

Jesus was asked by a lawyer what he must do to get into heaven. It was common for people who did not accept the teachings of Jesus to test him. The Jews of Jesus’s time despised the Samaritans although the Samaritans where of God’s chosen people at one time.

Note, History lesson:  The greatest king of the Israelites was King David, who the Lord said was a man after his own heart Acts 13:22, 1st Samuel 13:14. Prior and during the reign of King David the children of Israel where made up of 12 tribes (12 tribes of Israel). After David passed away he made Solomon his son King over Israel. Solomon served God during most of his reign but he lost favor in Gods eyes, after his marriage to foreign women Solomon’s heart was turned from God; because he built temples and offered offerings to Idols (false gods). This displeased God so when Solomon died God gave 10 tribes to Solomon’s companion Jeroboam, and the other two tribes Judah and Benjamin God gave to the sons of David, because David loved God with all his heart and was an obedient servant.  Jeroboam caused the 10 tribes of Israel in which he led to sin against God and caused them to worship idols. The 10 tribes of Israel continued after this to sin against God and worship idols. Each king was wicked in the site of the Lord so God delivered them into the hands of the Assyrians. Assyria ruled over the 10 tribes and inter-married with them and they became known as the Samaritans and there capital city was Samaria. The other 2 tribes Judah and Benjamin became known as the Jews. They despised the Samaritans because they were mixed with the Assyrians (Gentiles, idol worshippers).

Jesus replied to the lawyer “What is written in the law? How readest thou?” the lawyer replies by speaking the first two commandments of the law. “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself”.

Jesus tells the lawyer to go and do these things, but the lawyer replies asking who his neighbor is (Luke 10:29 But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour?). Maybe the lawyer had hate in his heart for someone and did not want to forgive, or maybe he was just testing Jesus to see what he’d say. Jesus tells a parable (story), about a man was traveling and his robbed and beaten by thieves.  A priest passes by the wounded man, and does not help him, he goes on the other side of the road and continues walking away. How strange, you would think a man who claims God would stop and help but instead he goes to the other side of the road, purposely ignoring the wounded victim.  After a Levite, a servant of God (Levites perform duties of the temple, sacrifices etc…). The Levite looks on the wounded man but passes him by. Last a Samaritan comes upon the wounded traveller and has compassion on the traveller. The Samaritan takes the wounded man and bandages up his wounds and cares for him. The Samaritan even takes the man to an inn and pays for the stay and offers to pay for any future stay.  Jesus after telling the story asked the lawyer who do you think is the neighbor of the wounded man. The lawyer replies the one who had mercy (who bound hi wounds)

Luke 10

29But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour?

30And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.

31And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.

32And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.

33 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,

34And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.

35 And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.

36Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?

37And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.

Conclusion: When Jesus said to the lawyer to do likewise, he was telling him to help those in need and to love those whom are not of kin and kin. Show no partiality but all men and women are your neighbors. When the Samaritan stopped and bounded the wounded man and cared for him, He did not care what race or color he was. He did not care if he was a Jew or an Egyptian. He saw someone in need and helped him. Many Bible scholars believe the wounded man was a Jew, and Jesus was telling this story because the Jews looked down on the Samaritans. But no matter why Jesus told the story. The lesson learned from it; is we can never judge a book by its cover. We should treat all people as we would want to be treated. “ and thy neighbour as thyself”. Leviticus 19:18 Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD.

Prayer: Dear father in heaven please help us today to love others as we love ourselves. Help us to put others first and to be kind and generous. Help us not to fight and argue over childish things. Help us to let go of our pity grudges and to embrace love and unity. Help us to establish relationships and bonds and not break them. Help us to be your people and you our God. Please I pray be with us today and enrich our days with joy, love, and peace. Please I ask forgive us for our sins. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

What if you were wrong?

Good morning my friends.

Every day we take life for granted not knowing what each day holds. Not knowing what to expect day to day. Life is short but it is also beautiful and miss-understood. Our knowledge of how life works is so limited. Have you ever been in a situation where you thought you had something all figured out? But in the end you were all wrong. L

For so many people this could be the outcome for them, the creator has given us so many signs and proof that he is real. He has shown us the light and the way through his son Jesus Christ. He has let us peer into his wondrous works through science. He has shown us the stars and heavens just to get a glimpse of how magnificent he is; an infinite universe never ending, stars so massive that they could swallow our sun and all surrounding planets. Then there is the atom so small and powerful that we are still trying to figure out the source of its energy. Nature does nothing of itself without the creator, behind all engineering is intelligence, the universe around us is a system of wonderful and miraculous engineering. How can anyone say there is no God?

Prayer: Dear father in heaven thank you for being with each and every one of us. Blessing us with safe traveling mercies to and from, thank you for giving us another day to see the sunshine, the clouds in the sky, and the birds chirp, this morning I’m asking for you to help us to understand how real you are. I’m asking that you will open our eyes if they are shut. I’m asking that you today will lighten the parts in our hearts that are dark. Remove from us the doubt and despair and replace it with assurance and faith. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

Isaiah 45:18For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.

First I want to explain that the Bible does not prove the existence of God. The Bible assumes Gods existence. To the authors of the Bible there is no doubt about the existence of God. Each writer knew in his or her heart that God was real. They all went through life’s roller-coaster; some lost faith and regained it. Others stayed faithful to the end, and while some even went to rein in heaven with our Lord and father.

The purpose of the Bible is the redemption of mankind to reconcile man back to his creator, to show mankind the path towards righteous.

2nd Timothy 3:16All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

The greatest block that keeps man from God is self, we think God is taking something away from us.

We think that we will miss out on life if we give God our time. We wonder what other people will think about us if we serve God. We are afraid to see ourselves and to undergo change, we are afraid to give up our lust for sin.

Almost everything that you and I have experienced in life has been experienced by characters in the Bible. Life’s difficulties were overcome by the Bible characters as an example, to show us it is possible to overcome all things through Christ.  Solomon’s wisdom was given to help us to learn to make good decisions. The sacrificial lamb (Jesus) was given to redeem us from our sins. The scriptures where written as a testimony so we can see how to overcome what we are to face on earth.

All these things have been given to you and I today, we have access to something more powerful than money, something more powerful than life itself, for through the knowledge given to us flows life, eternal life. What if you decided today you were going to ignore all these signs and live life the way you wanted without God?

Matthew 7:27And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

Without God we will surely lose, because the Devil is real and he walks around “seeking whom he may devour”.  We fight a foe whom is one of the most powerful beings ever created. He was so smart he deceived one third (1/3) of the angles in heaven. We not only fight him, we also fight the angels that fell with him on this earth (daemons).  Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. {flesh...: Gr. blood and flesh} {spiritual...: or, wicked spirits} {high: or, heavenly}

We cannot even think to win against something this powerful; our greatest technologies cannot even glimpse the existence of such beings. There is no in between. For if you say you serve nothing than you are for the devil. Because his plan is to make you believe God does not exist, and make you think you are your own. If God does not exist than he (Satan) does not exist. Because without God there can be no Satan.

When we remove God, morality starts to decrease, something already shown in the Bible and seen in our society. As God moves from the schools and out of people’s homes he moves out of their lives. Families are torn apart through fornication, abusiveness, and drugs.  Imagine what it is going to happen in the near future when gay marriages are common. What types of values will be instilled in the minds of our young ones? What type of leaders will lead our country?

This here is the sign that we are in the last days God is soon to send his son Jesus back to earth to obtain the righteous.

2 Timothy 3

1¶ This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

2For menshall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

 3Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, {false...: or, one who foments strife}

 4Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

5Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

6For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,

7Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Each generation’s morality degrades and each passing decade brings us closer to our own destruction.

For if God does not send his Son fast mankind will surely destroy himself.

If today you choose to follow God and want him to come into your life he will. You will be granted a place in heaven and have eternal life.  When the storms come and beat upon your house you will not fall. You will just smile and praise and thank God.

Matthew 7:25And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

I want to invite my friends and family today to give God a chance, you have nothing to lose and all to gain. He will take nothing from you that will hurt you or disable you. He will offer you all things to your heart’s content. But first he needs to prepare you to receive these things. “The mind is willing but the flesh is weak”.  Start today by praying the best way you know how, talk to him he is always listening.

Tell him about the things that bother you, tell him your hearts greatest worries. Tell Jesus today you want to come home and rein with him. Do allow your pride to stop a wonderful relationship. Do not allow the world to deny you eternal life. All it takes is you to say “Lord help me” and he’ll help you. But tell him with all your heart. Not with just word’s but in spirit, spend time in studying his word. Spend time praying and helping others. Amen.

Think on this, you have more to lose by not following God, than if you choose to follow God.

Prayer:Dear father in heaven thank you for all that you have done for us, thank you for your word this morning. I ask that you will bless those today who have a made decision to follow you, and help those whom are still confused and not sure, bless them Lord with truth, bless them with wisdom and knowledge etc... Do not give up on them and keep working within their hearts. Help us to have a blessed and wonderful weekend and forgive us all for our sins. Amen.

Note: There is so much more I want to share with you about God and the Bible. Time has limited me on what I can share with you today. But I welcome all questions and I will be delighted in answering them. If I do not have an answer we’ll find it together. I’m open for all discussion and I wish everyone a happy weekend.  Please watch videos included below.

Beautiful Thing

Good morning…. J

If we take the time to look around us sometimes, we can see how wonderfully made our world is. We can see how wonderfully made we are and how wonderful our creator must be to create such wonderful things. In today’s society we are so busy working and concerned about paying our bills, raising kids, and other things that we just don’t stop to smell the flowers.

We miss out on Gods greatness and we miss out on spending time with God. If we seek to know God it is important that we slow down to get to know him. The most beautiful thing in the universe that has ever existed is God. He loves us so much that there is nothing we can do, no matter how wicked we are that can separate his love from us.

Romans 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Romans 8:39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Titus 1:2In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;

Prayer: Dear father in heaven thank you so much for guiding and teaching us many things, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins despite how we act and how we persecute you.

God please forgive us for our ignorance and our short comings and look past our sinful ways and help us to be perfect like our father in heaven, blameless, loving, and caring.

Help us to be wise, smart, and subtle when needed, and forgiving to others always. I pray in the name of Jesus, Amen.

God knew mankind would fall from the beginning and yet he still created mankind, God knew Satan would sin against him but yet he still brought Satan into existence. That is true love to even allow your enemies to live. To grant salvation to those who curse you, to grant salvation to those who persecute you, Jesus showed the character of God to mankind so that through him we could see the nature of God (father of Jesus).

John 8:28Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.

John 8:38 ¶ I speak that which I have seen with my Father:and ye do that which ye have seen with your father.

Jesus was and is the true manifestation of God the father; he showed us how we should live how we should treat one another. How we should deal with those who hurt and persecute us, what we should hate (evil) and what we should love (all things good); Jesus never hurt one person while he was on earth despite being persecuted by the very people he died for. That is true love, love without stipulations, love without conditions agape Love (unconditional love).

Conclusion: Gods is extremely beautiful everything about him is wonderful; there is nothing that is comparable to him. If you seek to fall in love, fall in love with God. If you seek a companion allow God to be your companion. If you are down and need someone to talk to, speak to God he is always listening and will answer you. He will provide for you when you have nothing, he will lift you up when you are down, and he will bless you when you are cursed. God’s nature and beauty is of such that you cannot come in contact with him without being change.

The most beautiful thing ever is God and his love!!

For God is love and all who seek him become as he is, Love!

1st John 4:16And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

Prayer: Dear father in heaven I want to thank you for you sacrifice and you love, you truly are wonderful and very beautiful. We love you because all that you have done, and if we do not love you help us to learn to love you. You are the life giver and the sustainer of life. Help us to grow stronger and closer to you the true and only love we need. Our first love because you loved us and brought us into existence. Forgive us I ask for our sins and in the name of your wonderful loving son Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.

1st John 4:19 We love him, because he first loved us.

What does God want from us?

Good morning …

What really does God want from us; today I will try to answer this question from the scriptures.

I know one thing is clear, like any father or mother (parent) God wants us to love him back. I’m also sure he wants each one of us to give him our undivided attention. But why does he want these things? Also what else does God want from us and how will it benefit us?

Prayer:Dear father in heaven thank you so much for being with each and every last one of us over this past weekend and holiday. Thank you for providing all of our needs and our wants. Thank you for being a loving and caring God. Thank you for creating us and all things in which we need to sustain life. This day please help us to answer the questions we seek, help us to be able to interpret your word and gain its full meaning. Please I pray forgive us for our sins. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

God gave us Ten Commandments but the first commandment is not just a commandment. It is a need that all humans need to fulfill for a better way of life.  Mark 12:30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.

Notice how deep the love of God needs to be, we are to love him with all our heart, all of our soul (body), all our mind, and with all our strength. Basically we need to love God over all things and love him more than even ourselves.

To gain a better understanding of this, let us use money as an example. We love money in some form or another. Maybe we do not love it, but most of us like having it. Why, because money allows us to provide for ourselves necessities, and things which we may want.  We like having money because it gives us a sense of security. The problem with money is that it can’t love us back; it can’t stop us from going down the path of destruction. Money can’t provide food, shelter, and most of all it can’t create life. Why do we put so much trust in something that can be burned or torn to shreds in a blink of an eye? We should put our faith in something that can never be destroyed, something that loves us more than we can love it. This something is God, in God we have security, and in God we have life, eternal life.

Habakkuk 2:4Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.

Matthew 6:

20But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:

21For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

If our love is situated on things that can be destroyed and corrupt, than our minds will become corrupt, “something that is lost and was loved dearly will bring the countenance of a man downward”. As people we grow sad when we lose something dearly, if our sadness where to persist we would grow angry, out of our anger we would commit sin. But if we are focused on God who can’t rust away and who can’t be destroyed. What is there to become sad about? If we are focused on someone who loves us more than we love ourselves, we can be assured all bad things will become good things (Romans 8:28 ), and because our focus is  on God whom created all things; we have eternal security and worrying is the thing of the past.   We should live by faith and not by the things of this world (money etc…). Because God loves us we should praise him. It is just our way of saying thank you for being a loving father to us all.

Solomon loved foreign women who were idol worshippers, because he loved them more than God his heart was turned and he erred (sinned) against God. This is just one example why we must be careful not to put other things and people above our love for God.

1st Kings 11:2Of the nations concerning which the LORD said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall not go in to them, neither shall they come in unto you: for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods: Solomon clave unto these in love.

God wants our time that is why he set aside a literal 24 hour day (7th day Sabbath) for us as his children to spend quality time with him. He wants us to get to know him, what his purpose is for our lives. Why he created us. Most of all he wants us saved from the destruction of the world that is why he gave his only son as a sacrifice for our sins. In our love we should want to spend time with God just as he wants to spend time with us.

John 3:

16For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

Exodus 20:8Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

Exodus 20:10But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

Mark 2:27And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:

(KJV)

Conclusion: From what we have talked about so far we can understand what it is God truly wants from us. He wants us to love him more than anything, but through our love he wants us to follow his commandments and to trust his wisdom. He wants us through our love to spend quality time with him; to have faith in him and understand that his plan for our lives is eternal life and salvation from our sins. As Christians we do not obey God because he commands it, but because we love him, that is why we obey him. Through our love for God we will obey him and our obedience will spare us from condemnation, Amen. Praise God!!

Note: God wants three things from us in Chronological order.

  1. Our Love
  2. Our Obedience
  3. Our Time

Prayer: Dear father in heaven thank you so much for loving us more than we love you. Thank you so much for showing us what love is and how it benefits us and not you. For I have come to understand today that it is us loving you back. That brings joy to your heart; I understand that you brought all of us to life out of love. So we should love you because you loved us first. I understand that it is love that sustains life, while evil destroys life and will even destroy itself. Today God help us to obey your word and commandments. Help us to follow you and to put you close to our hearts. To hold on to you dearly and to embrace all the righteousness you have to offer. I pray in Jesus name, please forgive us for our sins, Amen.

Thought Control healthy thinking

Good morningJ, God is good and I want to say I wish all a blessed weekend…

The mind is a very powerful tool which can be used for good or evil depending on the choices we make. When I sit back and observer today’s society I see the wicked imaginations of men. In our music and TV we teach our youngsters sexual immortality, in videogames and movies we portray killing and crime as fun. Truly the thoughts of mankind are wicked and evil and it is getting worse. Our thoughts are the very controlling force of our actions, what we put into our mind may come out (as our actions).

Prayer:Dear father in heaven thank you for waking us up this morning and blessing and protecting us from all harm and evil. Please help us to understand and use todays message.

Help us to grow in Christ and to use his knowledge and wisdom to pull us through on those bad and hellish days. I ask for forgiveness of our sins, in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Mattew 15:18But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.

Jesus states here that it is the things that proceed from our mouths that defile us. Because they come forth from the heart (mind); the Bible uses the word “heart” many times in place of the word “mind, or brain”.  During the time of Noah the minds of man where so corrupted that God flooded the earth and killed everyone except for Noah and his family. Genesis 6:5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

This just shows how the mind can be so corrupt. Imagine every thought was evil in their minds.

They had to derive pleasure from doing evil. This is the type of society we are becoming. It is important that we guard our thoughts and our influences, we also must be careful of the people we surround ourselves with and the content we watch and observe.

2nd Corinthians 6:14Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? (KJV)

1st Thessalonians 5:22Abstain from all appearance of evil. (KJV)

1st Corinthians10:6Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.

It is important that we watch what we feed our minds, just like an athlete watches the things that he or she puts into their bodies we too, must watch the things which we place in our minds. Would you eat food if you knew it was poisonous?  So why watch a dirty movie or read dirty literature. The things that we ingest in our mind can kill us just as much or more than the things we ingest in our bodies.  As people of God we must feed our soul the bread of life and not the wicked things of the world.

John 6:51I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

Prayer: Dear father in heaven thank you for all the wonderful things you have taught us today and so forth. Thank you for touching the lives and spirits of all of us. Thank you for caring about us and teaching us your ways and words. Help us to keep good company with those who help us do well. Help us to stay from things that will change us into people we hate. But help us to be people who are loving and encouraging and loved by you . I pray in the name of Jesus, please forgive us for our sins, Amen.

Conclusion: The body is Gods holy temple and it is important that we keep it clean and insure it stays healthy. But mostly we need insure the mind stays clear of the pollutions of this world. Our morality is what separates man from God’scharacterOne thing I have come to understand is that a pure mind makes ones soul healthy and acceptable in the sight of the Lord.

God only wants us to all have good characters to be ready for his kingdom. There will not be haters and gossipers in Heaven, but loving and encouraging individuals. We need to learn get along on earth before we consider heaven. Amen
